The first thing I saw as I approached Oshkosh from several miles away was the Goodyear Blimp. I flew one of the Goodyear blimps in 1991 when it was in Oakland, CA. It's flight characteristics were very unresponsive. To turn, you'd press a rudder, count slowly to 3, and then the nose would start to yaw in the turn direction. Pitch was controlled by a large wooden wheel mounted sideways between the two front seats.
